What is an Athletic Trainer?
Athletic Trainers (ATs) are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians. The services provided by ATs comprise: prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. To become an AT requires at least a Bachelor's degree & to pass a national Board exam to become certified. They are also required to take 50 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
Why do you use the term "sports therapy" instead of "athletic training"?
I tend to use the term "sports therapy" because a lot of people do not know what an AT is. People often confuse us with personal trainers. I feel it clearly describes what I do.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
You should bring a comfy pair of workout shorts and, for women, a short sleeved workout shirt or tank top.
Do you take insurance?
No, I only accept cash, credit card or PayPal.
